Job Description

NAU ITS is now hiring a Part Time Temporary Data and Reporting Analyst.

Northern Arizona University - ITS has developed a custom application to identity cases in which a person has more than one account (ID) within our PeopleSoft system. Within each case, the objective is to identify which ID should be kept within PeopleSoft and which ID should be retired. Once it has been determined which ID should be kept, cleanup effort will occur within PeopleSoft prior to closing the case. The position will require engagement with other departments within Northern Arizona University (Example: Admissions, Financial Aid, etc.) to assist on cleanup efforts. Assigned to a backlog of cases and monthly run rate of new cases will be within the scope of job duties. Position will report within the ITS - Enterprise Business Analyst Department. An existing Full Time Employee, Student Employee, Manager and Developer are established within this department.

Data Management - 95%
  • Duplicate data management
  • Review Duplicates within PeopleSoft to determine which EMPLID is the kept vs. duplicate EMPLID.
  • Move over all necessary information from the duplicate EMPLID to the kept EMPLID.
  • Erase all Bio-Demo information from the duplicate EMPLID.
  • Engage with other departments within NAU to assist in duplicate cleanup, determining which EMPLID should be kept, etc.
  • Receive requests from other departments to assist in duplicate cleanup (Via Email, Via Service Now Tickets).

Other duties as assigned - 5%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field; AND,
  • 1-2 years of data analysis and reporting experience; OR,
  • A combination of related education, experience, and training.

Knowledge
  • Baseline working knowledge of routine data and reporting tools and processes, such as databases, spreadsheets, and software applications.
  • Knowledge of data reporting in higher education.

Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Skill in preparing data reports and summaries.
  • Data entry skills.

Background Information

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. If you are applying for a job that requires a CDL, you will be required to register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and adhere to the clearinghouse requirements. Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States. Finally, each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. Salary

$25/hour

FLSA Status

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.
