What you will do:
You'll oversee classroom operations including coordinating staff, guiding teaching assistants and student staff, curriculum planning and implementation. You will interact with infant and toddler aged children and diverse backgrounds in small groups and individually all while providing a nurturing environment.
You'll work with a group of colleagues and as part of a team of early childhood educators that values teamwork, diversity, providing nurturing care.
Typical schedule for this position is M-F within the hours of 7:30-6:00 pm. Occasionally teachers work evening and weekend hours.

- An Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child
Development from a recognized program; OR
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; OR
- A minimum of twenty semester hours (thirty quarter hours) of
college courses in Early Childhood Education or Child Development;
AND one year of experience in a certified day care center or
comparable group care program; OR
- Two years of experience, including at least one year as a
teacher, in a certified day care center or comparable group child
care program
For success in this position, you will have:
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and
staff from diverse backgrounds.
The idea candidate also has (preferred qualifications):
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early
childhood or related field
- At least three years of experience supervising or leading the
work of other staff members
- Experience using child development assessment tools and
reporting results

The Moss Street Children's Center is a unit within the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) that supports UO student parents by providing care for their children. The Erb Memorial Union (EMU) is a department of the Division of Student Life. The EMU is a multifaceted auxiliary service that employs over 70 professional staff and 300 student staff, and serves over 15 thousand daily users during the academic year. The EMU welcomes students, faculty, staff, the community and visitors to campus, and its mission is to provide learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth in an open, inclusive, and resource-rich community where students and staff collaborate to inspire and sustain extraordinary programs and services that promote diversity and social interaction.
