The Henrietta Schmoll School of Health at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Practicum Coordinator in Public Health. This position will begin in August 2022 with an annual contract for a professional faculty role.

The Public Health program aligns with the vision and mission of the institution, emphasizing global perspectives, diversity, and social justice. The program's vision is a world where under-served communities, locally and abroad have achieved health equity. The Practicum Coordinator manages practicum preparation, practicum courses and student experiences. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, organize and coordinate the development and maintenance of practicum experiences for undergraduate public health students and community health worker students that are respectful and collaborative.
  • Teach the equivalent of six undergraduate courses during the academic year
  • Teach core department courses in traditional classroom, online and hybrid environments.
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator, an advisor, and a mentor
  • Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
  • Establish a searchable data base and tracking system for practicums
  • Support and participate in the public health meetings and committees and other related activities including coordinating with MPH program coordinator on dissemination of activities in program.
  • Maintain presence at the MN Community Health Worker Alliance
  • Build sustainable relationships with community stakeholders.

Given the way campus life inherently puts people in close proximity to each other, including residence and dining halls, classrooms, and gatherings, the University has determined that a vaccination requirement is the best way to keep our community safe and prevent potential outbreaks as we return to more regular, in-person operations. St. Catherine University is requiring all students, faculty (including adjuncts contracted for the fall semester and beyond), staff, and residents age 12 and older to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series, including a booster, unless the University approves a medical or religious accommodation or other accommodation/exemption as required by applicable law. New employees must submit vaccination documentation or be approved for an exemption/accommodation before beginning work. For more information, visit stkate.edu/coronavirus-info/vaccine.
