Job Summary

The successful candidate will teach Government and Political Science courses in the Department of Social Sciences

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge and Skilled in Blackboard, Banner and other online or statistical packages.
• Ability to operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, projector, Scranton machine, etc.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to teach varied courses in Social Science.
• Advise Social Science students about academic requirements and registration for classes.
• Contribute to continual program improvement through annual evaluation of program outcomes and objectives.
• Prepare required information for quality enhancement planning and evaluation.
• Assist in ongoing program curriculum development and participate in service to the program, department, school, and the community.
• Actively engage in professional activities related to Social Science disciplines, including a demonstrated commitment to a specific research agenda.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate in the relevant academic discipline or Master degree.
• Prior teaching experience on the community college or university level is preferred.
