Job Details
Reporting to the Director of Finance at the LeBow College of Business, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with managing the following areas: budget, adherence to University policies/procedures (as they relate to HR, Procurement, General Accounting), and college institutional research.
Essential Functions
- Independently manage day-to-day operations of all financial transactions, revenue receiving, purchasing, accounts payable, etc.
- Prepare financial analysis and reports for the college, departments, and programs; including profit/loss statements.
- Oversee the travel and pcard process for all departments to ensure University policies are upheld.
- Recommend fiscal controls to assure financial efficiencies.
- Develop financial reporting tools to facilitate fiscal management and decision making.
- Monitor all LCB spending on monthly basis ensuring the college remains compliant with University polices and guidelines.
- Provide coordination, advice and assistance with post-award research and financial administration for Principal Investigators for research grants.
- Create new cost centers as needed.
- Provide assistance and coordination between the departments and human resources as it relates to hiring and on-boarding of part-time, student, co-op, temporary, adjunct employees, etc.
- Review and approve all EPAF transactions for the LeBow College of Business and Goodwin College of Professional Studies.
- Occasionally submit EPAFs on behalf of the Dean’s Office for chair professorships, endowments, faculty start up and other ad hoc requests.
- Assist and advise in contract negotiations, organizational operation, and other strategic planning initiatives.
- Provide ongoing training and support to LCB users for all financial transactions, University financial systems, policies, and procedures. Assist LCB users with purchase requests.
- Serve as a liaison with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, General Accounting and other university units.
- Provide assistance to the Director of Finance in other activities; including managing personnel budgets, reporting on overload teaching expenditures and assisting in merit process.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similar discipline
- 3 years experience in finance, accounting or in budget preparation for revenue and expenses
- Thorough knowledge of standard office practices/accounting methods.
- 3-5 years experience working in Higher Education with a focus on budgeting, forecasting and accounting.
- Experience with Hyperion
- Experience with procure-to-pay systems
- Experience with Concur Travel
- Post-award grant management experience
