The Admissions Reader is a member of the Office of Admissions staff and contributes to the overall efforts of Bucknell University. Typical work schedule is approximately 20-24 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the months of November through the end of March, but flexibility exists based on experience, availability and interest.

Given the responsibilities of the position, this person may be able to work remotely. However, specific work locations must be approved in advance and be in compliance with the University's HR and Payroll requirements.

Job Duties:
The Admissions Reader reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Admissions, works in collaboration with the Dean of Admissions and other Admissions team members. Primary responsibilities are the application review process; specifically reviewing and evaluating applications from a highly selective applicant pool. Additional duties may include project assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-Appreciation for and understanding of highly selective liberal arts institutions
-Reasonably informed about the college application process
-Ability to maintain confidentiality, work with sensitive information and exercise good judgment under pressure
-Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment that requires one to be able to work both effectively and efficiently independently and with a team
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Solid computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior reader experience. Ability to review and synthesize applications and supporting documents using critical thinking and analysis skills to effectively and succinctly summarize the strengths and merits of the applicants.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
