Shenandoah University is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Director for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

In addition to implementing programs and services that promote student understanding of anti-racism, multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusion, this position coordinates all aspects of an NCAA Division III compliance and rules education program.

This position is also responsible for initiatives that promote the engagement and success of student-athletes as well as programs that prepare all students to lead in a diverse society. The position serves as one of the university’s three chief diversity officers as well as serving as a liaison to the Mosaic Center for Diversity and on University committees that address diversity initiatives.

Required Skills

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree in higher education, related field, or research in diversity and higher education/student affairs preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience related to NCAA Compliance.
  • Experience working in a student services area on a college campus with diversity and inclusion.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community constituents
  • Team orientation and inclusive philosophy
  • Personable and relatable to all student populations as well as faculty and staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
