This is a full-time benefits eligible position. 1. Plan and implement a gallery exhibition program and lecture series, in collaboration with the faculty and Department Chair, which will allow the gallery to function as an important focus of
cultural endeavor for the department, the university, and the larger community it serves.
2. Serve as the Director of the Art Center Gallery under the administrative guidance of the
Department Chair and School Chair, to include: plan, document, and monitor the gallery budget.
Provide financial guidance to the Chair and Faculty regarding the status of accounts and approval
of expenses. Prepare annual budget reports and reconciliation to the chair and others, as
requested. Administer Office budget policies and procedures.
3. Plan and implement educational programs associated with the gallery and participating in Art &
Design activities, including providing information about the department and Gallery, and assisting
students.
4. Serve as the principal for all public relations for the School of Visual and Performing Arts
including writing press releases, media coverage, social media campaigns, and publicity. Education & Formal Training Master's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Master of Arts, or related field required.

Doctorate degree in Art History or related museum field preferred. Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Desktop Publishing, Web Page Maintenance, Other - Database management (e.g. Access), budget management software, PC & Mac computer literacy, and internet navigation. Experience
1. Two (2) years experience as a gallery director or professional curatorial experience required,
three years preferred.
2. One (1) year experience with budget operations or financial analysis required.
3. One (1) year experience with fundraising and/or grant writing required.
4. Extensive understanding and background in museums, galleries, art history,
studio art, or related fine art field required. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Budget-related skills, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Supervisory skills, including motivation, delegation of duties, evaluation, etc, Management and/or administration skills, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Ability to interpret customer inquiries and make decisions to assist students properly and quickly.

Candidate must have experience in designing and hanging exhibitions and
must demonstrate imagination and creativity as well as strong leadership, interpersonal,
managerial and organizational skills.
