Job Description:
  • Works with the UF CARES Administrator and Division Chief to develop long and short-term objectives for HIV primary and specialty care in UF CARES clinical operations.
  • Develops and recommends strategic and operational plans and operating policies in a cost-effective and customer-oriented manner. Implements endorsed actions and policies and monitors progress.
  • Responsible for ensuring efficient and cost effective utilization of resources, space, materials, and personnel.
  • Oversees and/or directs employee management activities within UF CARES clinical program including interviewing, hiring, training, counseling and disciplinary actions. Routinely conducts staff meetings to discuss operations, staff issues, and customer satisfaction; reviews new policies and procedures and shares general information. Supervisors and coordinates the patient billing activities.
  • Works closely with Medical Directors, UF CARES Administrator, and Division Chief to facilitate program goals in an efficient and effective manner, including operating budgets for the unit.
  • Works collaboratively with both Pediatric and Adult Medical Directors, UF CARES Administrators, and Division Chief to establish standards of care and performance regarding responsiveness to physician and patient customers, effectiveness of support systems and appearance of physical facilities.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, state and federal regulatory requirements including OSHA, Infection Control, CLIA and general safety.
  • Resolves medical/administrative problems and patient complaints. Maintains excellent lines of communication between the staff and providers to ensure high employee morale and a professional atmosphere. Safeguards confidential information concerning both staff and patients.
  • Implements and maintains Quality Improvement programs, proactively implements approved action plans to resolve problem areas, actively participates in goal setting for the practice and coordinates the efforts to meet the goals. Participates in required meetings-organizational management meetings and CEG, HIV classes, Ryan White Council, Director and Supervisor's meetings.
Expected Salary:

$55,000 to $73,000 annually depending on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes, or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with Chapter 64 89, Florida Administrative Code.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of specialization such as a Registered Nurse and 6 years of appropriate experience.
  • Two to five years progressively responsible administrative experience in an applicable health care facility which includes working knowledge of billing and/or reimbursement, management of clinical and non-clinical staff and working with physicians, demonstrating management and leadership expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability in application of organizational/communication skills required.
