About the Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide Campus is currently accepting applications for a Digital Media Specialist located at the Worldwide Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Digital Media Specialist will coordinate with course production teams (course developers, subject matter experts, instructional designers, etc.) to plan, design, and develop high quality digital media assets (video, audio, and/or other computer-based training products) in support of online courses delivered by Embry-Riddle Worldwide. Examples of such projects include interactive web activities, graphics and illustrations, animations, instructional video, and audio for narrated presentations or podcasts.

This position will perform a variety of tasks related to the production of digital media assets for online programs. Those tasks may include identifying appropriate media in various instructional settings, providing coaching and guidance on best practices for creating various media, developing scripts and storyboards, using multiple applications to produce various parts of a project, handling audio and video equipment in a studio setting, converting various file types for use in an online environment, and creating options and alternatives for media to address Section 508 compliance.

This person must be able to work independently and as part of a team, handle multiple projects simultaneously, manage time efficiently, and communicate and collaborate effectively. This position demands high quality visual products and great attention to detail.

The Digital Media Specialist plays a key role in teaching and learning for the ERAU Worldwide Campus and the Academic Innovation team. The Academic Innovation team is made up of diverse skill sets and individuals, including a Software Developer, UX Research Analysts, eLearning Support Specialists, Instructional Technologists, Instructional Designers, Instructional Consultants, Media Producers, and Digital Media Specialists. Those positions work collaboratively to apply their expertise on the creation and implementation of innovative solutions and on the identification of tools and technologies that address big challenges in education. The Digital Media Specialist seeks to constantly innovate through continued evaluation of existing solutions and by staying informed about industry trends.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Video Production, or related field.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated skills in creating high quality digital media.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Intermediate experience with any of the following software applications: Microsoft Office, Zoom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Captivate, Final Cut Pro, Articulate Storyline, Canva, Visme, H5P, or other creative applications.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.

  • Strong communication, writing, proofing, and editing skills.

  • Ability to accept feedback as part of the creative process and educate clients on design theory.

  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects.

  • Ability to interpret and utilize brand standards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience designing highly engaging learning media based on sound learning principles.

  • Experience with the Instructure Canvas Learning Management System.

  • Knowledge of instructional design and development techniques in a distance learning environment.

  • Experience recording high quality audio narrations a plus.
