Job Description

The School of Visual Studies seeks a full-time staff member to serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, students, and visitors in the Fine Arts Building and to provide graduate student coordination and support within the College of Arts and Science.

Responsibilities include:
  • Fine Arts Building, on-site point of contact
    • Greet and support visitors to the Fine Arts Building and the George Caleb Bingham gallery. Open and close Bingham Gallery. Monitor security cameras.
    • Coordinate campus mail and large deliveries to the Fine Arts Building.
    • Assist faculty members with university procurement services.
    • Maintain Visual Studies online store (Marketplace).
    • Manage locker registration, maintenance, and cleanout.
    • Recruit, interview, and schedule art models and Work Study students.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Graduate student coordination
    • Provide support and resources for graduate students and directors of graduate study.
    • Coordinate graduate student applications in Slate.
    • Draft graduate assistantship letters, ensuring that all appointments are compliant with Graduate School policies.
    • Coordinate with A&S HR staff to ensure that all graduate assistantships are processed accurately and that student onboarding is completed on time.
    • Work with Scholarship Coordinator to process graduate fellowships or scholarships.
    • Compile tuition waiver information and submit it to the Graduate School.
    • Track submission of Graduate School forms to ensure that students meet Graduate School deadlines.
Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $13.27 - $22.73/ hour

Grade: GGS-006

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
