Job Summary/Basic Function

This position, which reports to the Director of Campus Life, is critical in creating and incorporating the vision of engagement to our fraternity and sorority life community at Millersville. The coordinator provides support and guidance to sorority and fraternity chapters and governing councils in program development, risk reduction, engagement opportunities, and the promotion of leadership development for community members. This position also supports large-scale student engagement programs for Campus Life.

Located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Millersville University of Pennsylvania is one of the 14 public universities of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. Annual Salary : $50,308.00, plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
  • Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.
  • Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
  • Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
  • Group life insurance - Equal to annual salary (up to $50,000) at no cost to the employee.
  • Voluntary Group Life and Accident Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates for additional employee coverage as well as coverage for spouse and children.
  • Long Term Disability Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates with either a 90 or 180-day waiting period.
  • Retirement – 2 plans to choose from.
  • Tuition waiver – Employee, spouse, and dependents are eligible.
  • Vacation leave – Up to 10.4 days accrued for the first year, increases to up to 15.6 days per year after first year.
  • Personal leave – Up to 5 days per year.
  • Sick leave – Up to 15.6 days accrued per year, including up to 5 days per year that can be taken to care for a family member.
  • Holiday leave – Up to 12 days per calendar year.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 years of experience within a higher education related field.
  • Knowledge of fraternity & sorority recruitment, education, reporting, program evaluation, and current fraternity & sorority life trends.
  • Experience creating a welcoming environment for diverse student populations and facilitating community development programming and initiatives.
  • Experience assuming programmatic, supervisory, and budgetary responsibilities.
  • Excellent strategic planning, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Significant experience in large scale event planning on/for a college campus or related field.
  • Evidence of ability to work with students from diverse cultures and racial and ethnic groups.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, detail-oriented, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking as well as the ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to anticipate future trends and problems and plan for them accordingly.
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful completion of three background checks.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Organizational Leadership.
  • 3 years of professional experience within higher education.
  • Experience with social Greek lettered organizations in either an advisor or leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated working-knowledge and understanding of culturally based Greek lettered organizations.
  • Experience with student programming, initiating, planning, executing, and assessing student programs and services.
  • Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion within FSL and Campus Activities.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent marketing and digital design skills coupled with a strong background in various software programs.
  • Active/current status with an inter/national fraternity/sorority- service/social/civic organization beyond local chapter.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Council for the Advancement of Standards ( CAS ).
  • Understanding of leadership theory and development.
