The Facilities Technician II is a dependable and detail-oriented team member, focused on the upkeep and maintenance of the institution. The position is responsible for general maintenance, including, but not limited to, plumbing, lighting, doors, locks, and the general appearance of the campus.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1.The position requires an experienced maintenance technician. The appointed technician will need to be able to troubleshoot and repair various building components such as. Plumbing, lighting, doors, locks, and general appearance of the campus.
2.Replace burnt out light bulbs, outlets, switches and ballast. Troubleshoot tripped circuits and reset breakers once corrective action to prevent an overload of that circuit has been corrected.
3.Patch and paint walls in order to maintain the appearance of LSSC. Must be willing to engage in remodeling and alteration projects being performed in house by LSSC facilities management department.
4. Repair door and lock functions
5. Replace damaged ceiling tiles
6. Investigate and check A/C equipment and if unable to correct, notifies an LSSC A/C technician.
7. Perform preventive maintenance/ safety inspections on college vehicles. Perform PM/ inspections on emergency light fixtures, fire extinguishers, and life safety equipment.
8.0Update work orders in the LSSC system and update management of issues that prevent completion of assigned work orders.
9. Participate in department meetings and complete all mandatory training.
10. Rotate as on call technician for after hours unscheduled rep
Qualifications
Trade school certification required
Two years relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
1. Must have a mechanical/ maintenance background.
2. Ability to work safely with various hand and power tools.
3. Ability to work independently but also recognize situations that are not safe to perform by yourself and contact the supervisor for assistance.
4. Have a valid Florida drivers license
5. Facilities Management employees are required have a personal cell phone.
