  • Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for PRN Embedded Participants or Standardized Patients, in our Nursing Department. Reporting to the Simulation and Skills Lab Coordinator, the Embedded Participants will be responsible for portraying a specific role in a simulated healthcare environment as needed throughout the academic year. The specific ‘character’ needs vary by simulation and training to the role is provided.

    Responsibilities:
  • Portray a role according to the needs of a specific scenario
  • Flexibility in role assignment to include both physical and mental health scenarios
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Prior acting interest/experience
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to memorize basic demographic/background information
  • Must be flexible to work as needed hours throughout the Academic Year
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be accessible by phone and email
  • Ability to be punctual and reliable to meet scheduling requirements
  • Proven relationship building skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality to uphold the fidelity of the learning process
