University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part time “non-exempt”, non-benefited position through 12/31/2022 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $26.00-$32.00 per hour.

Location: San Bernardino, CA

Program Summary: The CSUSB Department of Nursing (DON) and its faculty continuously strive to enact its mission to be the center of excellence in nursing education. The Department offers two nursing degrees, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The bachelor's degree has three program tracks, the prelicensure BSN, for students who do not possess a Registered Nurse (RN) license, the RN-BSN track for students who possess an RN license, and the Concurrent Enrollment Pathway for associate-degree seeking students who are attending a community college while dually enrolled in one BSN course at CSUSB. The master's degree offers three concentrations, Population Health, Nursing Education, and Public Health Nurse.

Work Schedule

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday within the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the PI and Co-PI, the Student Success Professional II will work independently to:
  • Support students in the nursing program by helping them fulfill their strategic plans for success, developed by faculty.
  • Provide workshops for students in areas including but not limited to time management, testing strategies, online resource navigation, career development, resume building, interview strategies.
  • Collaborate with other university program support to help students including but not limited to CARE team, SSD, career center, financial aid, and advising.
  • Collaborate with faculty in supporting student success in the program.
  • Support the Department of Nursing in recruitment of diverse students in the program.
  • Collect and report outcome data to PI, Co-PI, and other DON committees.
  • Recommend strategies to faculty and staff to support student success.
  • Provide innovative solutions to help students become successful.
  • Create flyers for recruitment of diverse students and help DON with recruitment.
  • Assist staff and faculty with DON celebrations, e.g., recognitions, orientations, advisories, and forums.
  • Other position related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Master's Degree
  • Experience: Academic program support; work with students and faculty.
  • Other: Proficient in Excel, Microsoft, Zoom, Teams, and Canvas LMS. Good customer service skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in coaching students.
