Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management in the Bouve College of Health Sciences (BCHS) is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of undergraduate and graduate students' recruitment, admissions, and yields for the College. The Assistant Dean will employ vision, creativity, leadership, and a broad range of decision-making ability, strategies and tactics to achieve and surpass enrollments goals set for the college (a key performance indicator). The Assistant Dean will formulate assessment tools to determine which strategies are the most successful. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with university and college stakeholders to achieve enrollment goals as well as lead the design, delivery, and operations for the Office of Enrollment Management.

Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Administration and Finance, the Assistant Dean works closely with the College Dean, and other Associate and Assistant Deans, academic unit leaders and program directors to set benchmarks, strategies and goals for increased number of applications, acceptances and yields for BCHS undergraduate and graduate programs. The Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management will advance new programs and initiatives, manage special projects, and work with departments on developing strategies and goals. The Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management participates in strategic planning processes as well as routine problem-solving and management processes.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with NU Central Admissions and Enrollment Management, leaders of network campuses, academic unit leaders and program directors to meet Bouve's recruitment, admissions and yield goals.


  • Work with other College and University leaders to identify and propose areas for program growth and oversee all stages of successful implementation of recruitment for new or expanded programs


  • Provide executive leadership, vision, direction, advocacy, and supervision for a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate recruitment, admission and yield related strategies. This position is the College's primary driver in identifying enrollment challenges and strengthen Bouve enrollment marketing and recruitment tactics. In collaboration with the Bouve College Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management analyzes recruitment and yield strategies, tactics and data to shape the College's outreach to attract high talent and diverse prospective students both national and internationally. The Assistant Dean will lead in extensive data analysis and predictive modeling, using a data-driven approach to inform enrollment strategy and presenting regular reports on the implementation and effectiveness of the chosen strategy.


  • Partner with the college's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion lead to develop strategies, policies and practices designed to enhance outreach to under-represented prospective students and ensure more inclusive and equitable admissions


  • Function as key member of the Bouve Leadership Team focused on portfolio-based recruitment, admissions and yield strategies.


  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance, Associate Dean of Administration and Finance, and Provost's Office to develop forecasting models and budget planning based on enrollments.


  • Directly supervise four professional staff members and work-study students.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience
  • Master's degree is required, preferably in higher education or related field;
  • Candidate should have 10 plus years of higher education experience in enrollment management;
  • A minimum of 5-7 years previous supervisory experience required;
  • Must possess excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent and conflicting projects and activities;
  • Demonstrated continued professional growth, development, and leadership in the enrollment management field;
  • Experience and a commitment to working with a diverse population of faculty, students, and staff;
  • Experience working with teams and different stakeholders;
  • Experience with reviewing financial budgets to help plan and drive enrollments;
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise, develop and mentor others; and
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a rapid pace environment leading change and innovation.
  • Acute planning and analytical abilities;
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships;
  • Experience and a passion of incorporating new technologies to enhance strategic decisions and team productivity;
  • Candidates should know how to set clear objectives, but be flexible and nimble when plans change.


Enrollment expertise
  • A track record of success in achieving institutional enrollment goals, including recruiting diverse, domestic and international students.
  • Demonstrated leadership in implementing strategic initiatives around enrollment and academic operations.
  • Experience managing multiple strategies, program offerings and implementing best practices to address national enrollment trends and the changing landscape of higher education;
  • Experience advancing new enrollment processes, strategies, systems, and technologies by collaborating across functions and with other campuses or programs;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with developing financial aid/scholarship/fundraising strategies to meet targeted goals and drive enrollment;
  • Success employing outcomes and metrics-based, creative marketing strategies to achieve enrollment goals;
  • Expertise in effectively implementing and managing technology and systems (such as predictive modeling) to capture and support data-driven enrollment, admissions, and aid decisions; and
  • Comfort managing budgets, including the ability to prioritize and allocate resources.
