The Institute of Government at the University of Georgia is hiring for a Talent Assessment Consultant who will be in charge of running assessment centers and delivering custom solutions to identify candidates eligible for promotion at state and local government agencies. Experience working with public safety agencies (i.e., law enforcement, fire), and/or experience managing assessment solutions, and/or talent measurement initiatives in a Talent/HR function are preferred. The ideal applicant will support the design and implementation of scalable assessment solutions for state and local government agencies with the goal of identifying candidates eligible for promotion within their respective agencies. The person in this position will develop, implement, and evaluate promotional tests, assessments, and assessment center exercises while consulting directly with clients and stakeholders. They will also drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive talent assessment strategy for government clients.

This role will manage the end-to-end process of assessment center delivery, including assessor training and calibration, candidate preparation, and overall assessment center facilitation. They will supervise personnel during the assessment center implementation process and ensure accuracy of assessor ratings. Additionally, this position will facilitate testing processes and create a high-quality assessor and candidate experience. It is imperative that the person in this position is able to create a professional and positive assessment center environment while also cultivating encouraging relationships with candidates that will put them at ease. This position will have contact with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds, so they need to be able to have a positive working relationship with internal and external clients through demonstrated competency, personal integrity and exemplary professionalism in all interactions.

The person in this role will lead job analysis projects by meeting with subject matter experts, conducting observations and on-site interviews, developing job analysis questionnaires, collecting and analyzing data, and writing technical reports. The successful applicant will conduct research, statistically analyze talent assessment data, and produce feedback reports on assessment success metrics while developing testing material and documentation. We are looking for a person who is comfortable conducting data analysis using Excel, SPSS, R, and/or SAS and who can delve into the details.

Work format varies. This position may require up to 50% overnight travel within the state of Georgia. They will work on multiple projects simultaneously that require meeting strict deadlines and high-quality standards, so organizational skills are a plus. We are looking for a person who can exercise autonomous judgment and is comfortable independently making decisions in this leadership position. We are looking for a person who can effectively work alone, as a team member, or as a lead in an assessment center or on-site with client organizations in a variety of field settings. They must have excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to strong interpersonal skills. They need to be able to work well with clients and establish relationships quickly. In addition, successful candidates will possess superb research, data analysis, writing, and report skills.

Required qualifications include at least a baccalaureate degree in Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Development, Business, or a related field and 3+ years of related work experience. Candidates with a graduate degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business, or Public Administration are preferred.
