We are seeking a Research Assistant who is needed in the Department of Neurology to aid in an ongoing NIH-sponsored project investigating cognitive outcomes in stroke patients. This position is open immediately. The position will include participation in training research staff in cognitive testing, quality control monitoring, and data management.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

    The Research Assistant will be involved in protocol management for cognitive testing training and certification in a multi-site, epidemiological, longitudinal research study. Duties also include executing quality control protocols of cognitive testing and cognitive data collection, and analysis of data. Other duties may include protocol modification and design, materials development, and data aggregation.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

    Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. Some related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula

* JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.  Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

** Applicants who do not meet the posted requirements but are completing their final academic semester/quarter will be considered eligible for employment and may be asked to provide additional information confirming their academic completion date.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior experience with cognitive testing or the administration of neuropsychological testing is preferred, but not required.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    The candidate will possess initiative and self-motivation to aid in the development and carrying out of procedures aimed at maintaining study protocols. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a team-oriented personality, are required. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary. Prior experience with cognitive testing or the administration of neuropsychological testing is preferred, but not required.

Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
