About the Opportunity

This position will serve as part of the leadership team within the Center of Excellence in Disabilities (CED) particularly focused on operational procedures and building oversight at both the Morgantown and Big Chimney offices. The person in this position will be expected to have experience in administrative leadership and work well with large service teams.

What you’ll do:

• Serves as a member of the senior leadership staff for CED
• Provides leadership and assists with management of CED
• Participates in the implementation of the mission, vision, and strategic plan for CED
• Serves as the responsible person for the CED on building issues related to the Morgantown and Big Chimney offices

Administration and Operations
• Lead monthly mid-level meetings and quarterly Consumer Advisory Committee meetings.
• Serve on the national AUCD Community Organizations Committee (COCA).
• Assist the Director and other Center staff with strategic planning for the CED, including vision building and fiscal planning.
• Participate in strategic planning and training with state partners around projects/initiatives of mutual interest.
• Provide administrative support to the Center Director in planning, monitoring and supervision of assigned programs and projects
• Represent the CED in many first impressions and interactions with community partners. This will also include developing relationships with community partners.
• Provide planning, supervising, and assistance in the purchase of materials and equipment for center employees.
• Assist in developing written procedures for improving operational and policy functions associated with running and managing the Center.
• Oversee building space allocation across programs.
• Assist in developing and implementing evaluation models to evaluate current and future staffing performance.
• Participate in state and university meetings, conferences and committees

Center Operations
• Coordinate staff resources to support Center operations, maximize productivity, and facilitate communications across projects.
• Identify resources and opportunities available for staff development and support and implement processes that support consistent access to these opportunities.
• Supervise the Center Intake Coordinator.
• Work with the Center Administrator to oversee the Center’s receiving and inventory processes as well as clinic coordination processes.
• Monitor the quality of all CED administrative operations to ensure that they meet the goals of the Center and the AUCD.
• Serve as liaison between faculty/staff and collaborative partners.
• Review AUCD documents as needed.

Qualifications :
  • Education at the master’s level with concentration in leadership, business management, disability studies, public health, or other health related fields; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience:
    • Experience in Community Development/Outreach and Center-based Relations.
    • Experience in strategic planning and evaluation
  • Three (3) years Leadership /Supervisory Training
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to achieve the Department and University’s long-term strategic goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to form positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and CED’s users/stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on CED budgeting. This includes the ability to perform mathematical calculations and estimate income and expenses.
  • Ability to work on CED HR issues as they arise.
  • Ability to lead, coach, consult with, and influence others towards success and effectiveness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, write coherently and concisely, and use appropriate grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to identify objectives and prioritize projects to meet critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional strategic consulting, facilitation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret and adhere to complex policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain objectivity and composure for professional interaction with a variety of persons.
  • Ability to lift, carry, load and unload materials.
  • Ability to follow safety precautions and guidelines. This includes wearing required clothing, masks and equipment as well as the ability to recognize normal occupational hazards and meet safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel to the CED locations and attend conferences and workshops as needed. Some overnight travel may be required.
