The Department of Psychology at California State University,
Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), invites highly qualified, motivated, and
well-organized, applicants for a pool of part-time teaching

Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology sees its mission as offering a solid
foundation in the theories and scientific methods of psychology to
diverse and nontraditional students. The department offers
rigorous, empirically-focused courses in aspects of basic and
applied psychology. The department is committed to excellence in
teaching, mentoring, research, practice, and service that promotes
broad cultural experiences, ethical values, and social justice in
an inclusive academic environment.

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are
filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding.
Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short
notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in
mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in
mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may
also be available.
Teach assigned upper division courses in the department's
curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching

socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching
experience at the college or university level and who can furnish
evidence of strong teaching.
Employment Requirement - Background Check
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.
- Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduates from diverse
ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- A Ph.D., enrollment in a doctoral program, or extensive
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal
records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a
conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the
background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is
discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified
information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background
check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee
who was conditionally offered the position.
