The Sound and Media Manager will plan and implement sound and video elements in support of academic and professional events, as part of a production team. The position also plays a critical role in supervising student and overhire employees, advising professional and student designers, and maintaining/improving equipment resources.

Responsibilities

Working closely with faculty, production staff, students, and overhire employees, the Sound and Media Manager is responsible for these primary duties:
  • Gather and process information necessary for support of events
  • Advise on methods, processes, and equipment in support of artistic goals
  • Lead installation, tuning, and operation of sound and video equipment; overseeing work of various staff, student, and temporary workers to deliver projects on schedule
  • Test, maintain, repair, and acquire appropriate sound and video equipment


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of directly applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent time management skills with experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to mix live performance of various complexities
  • Experience with software such as QLab and audio mixing, recording, and editing
  • Able to work with diverse people, of all abilities, and interpret artistic requirements that can be well-defined or ambiguous
This position is a full-time, 10-month, regular exempt appointment with full benefits. Some night and weekend hours are involved in this position and the position is not eligible for remote work.
