Opening Details
The Sound and Media Manager will plan and implement sound and video elements in support of academic and professional events, as part of a production team. The position also plays a critical role in supervising student and overhire employees, advising professional and student designers, and maintaining/improving equipment resources.
The Sound and Media Manager will support the mission of the college to provide a nurturing educational environment. Responsibilities
Working closely with faculty, production staff, students, and overhire employees, the Sound and Media Manager is responsible for these primary duties:
- Gather and process information necessary for support of events
- Advise on methods, processes, and equipment in support of artistic goals
- Lead installation, tuning, and operation of sound and video equipment; overseeing work of various staff, student, and temporary workers to deliver projects on schedule
- Test, maintain, repair, and acquire appropriate sound and video equipment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of directly applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent time management skills with experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to mix live performance of various complexities
- Experience with software such as QLab and audio mixing, recording, and editing
- Able to work with diverse people, of all abilities, and interpret artistic requirements that can be well-defined or ambiguous
