Job Description:
Position Summary
The Specialist, Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) coordinates lab classrooms and equipment, prepares for daily lab school activities, checks out lab materials to students, inventories lab resources, cleans the lab, and provides students with general guidance in the early childhood field. The Specialist performs various support activities and related work assignments as required to prepare appropriate learning environments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operational Support
Design, prepare and set up environments for daily lab school activities that align with instructional outcomes prepared by faculty to support ECDE students and children. Cleans and organizes lab classrooms and maintain inventory of lab materials. Promotes safe laboratory conditions and practices and follows all standard safety procedures.
Performs routine inspections of equipment and the laboratory environment. Plan and monitor lab related activities to support student learning outcomes and completion of ECDE course assignments.
Customer Service & Administrative
Provides customer service through a variety of communication methods using expertise and experience in the specialized function. Resolves customer, operational and administrative problems. Performs various administrative, clerical and recordkeeping functions in support of specialized function.
Supports the site supervisor by creating and maintaining various documents and reports and completes projects as assigned. Maintains confidentiality of student records and other confidential or sensitive information.

Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance, and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands.

Working Conditions
Normal office working conditions. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices.

Skill in: servicing of customers within area of specialization; performing administrative duties in support of specialized function; verbal and written communication; operation of general office equipment; maintaining good public relations; customer service; application of relevant software programs including word processing and spreadsheets; navigation of web-based systems. Ability to: work independently, demonstrating initiative and time management; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, College partners, and general public; originate correspondence; maintain confidential and sensitive information; maintain accurate and complete work records; work effectively with persons of varying cultures and diversity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in early childhood or related field. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
