College of Lake County is currently looking for Adjunct Faculty for
English Composition to join their team.
This position requires teaching ENG 121 (English Composition I)
and/or ENG 122 (English Composition II).
This is not a remote/online position
; we are
seeking candidates available to teach face-to-face courses.
Instructors are needed at the Lakeshore Campus (Waukegan),
Southlake Campus (Vernon Hills), and the main campus in

1. Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or
Literature, or MFA in Writing (completed before the teaching

Total Hours Per Week:
3 load hours per section.
Depending on number of sections assigned, instructors teach 3 to 12
hours per week, Monday - Saturday, morning to evening.

Summary of Essential Functions:
Teach courses in subject field. Develop instructional materials.
Assess student learning and assign grades. Attend required Adjunct
meetings in the Fall and Spring semesters. Participate in college
governance and other aspects of academic life. Maintain current

Adjunct Faculty members are expected to maintain current in
