About the Opportunity

Carter Field Supervisor / Club Sport Assistant

The primary role of this position is the Carter Field Supervisor and secondary to this will be the Club Sport Assistant responsibilities that occur when not working on Carter Field.

Total weekly hours: 28-32

Carter Playground is a $26 million-dollar, multi-purpose, state of the art publicly owned athletic complex including two athletic turf fields, a seasonal air structure, five tennis courts and a passive park.

Carter Field Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Support NU Club Sport programming (games, events, practices)
  • Supervise and monitor a team of up to 10 NU student workers
  • Adhere to, educate and enforce all policies and procedures in the Carter Field Rules
  • Ensure safe and proper use of the facility and equipment
  • Pass-on any and all information that may affect daily operations to the other Carter Staff (Facilities, Club Sports, student staff, etc.)
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings
  • Manage the relationship between NU Club Sports and the City of Boston, including citizens utilizing the field during public park hours
  • Coordinate daily responsibilities with Carter Field security personnel
  • Respond and/or report customer complaints or issues to appropriate full-time staff members
  • Assist in the transition of programming and ensure proper conclusions of said programming
  • Be the first point of contact for coaches, patrons, students, athletic trainers
  • Serve as Primary Responder in all situations that may occur at Carter Field during reservations
  • Assist with special event set-ups
  • Medical Kits - Ensure med kits are stocked and with you for all shifts
  • Rosters and IDs checks for visiting teams, if required
  • Assist Clubs with retrieving equipment from storage, filling water, and ice
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Club Sport Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of the Club Sports Office, including but not limited to:
  • Marketing, schedule management, travel coordination, financial management, compliance
  • Coordinate and manage meetings with Clubs in need of assistance
  • Equipment management
  • Assist with proper communication between all staff and club members

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Be willing/able to work nights and weekends
  • Have exceptional communication skills
  • Have the ability to thrive in a diverse student service environment
  • Have scheduling and policy enforcement experience
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (or willing to be before starting first shift)
