About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall executive leadership and operational administration of all of Center for Community Health Education Research and Service programs and activities. This includes advising the Dean and College leadership of Bouve College of Health Sciences on issues related to community-based activities as a member of the Bouve Leadership Team.

The Executive Director ensures that the agency fulfills its mission “to engage institutions, communities, community health centers and other stakeholders in education, research, and service partnerships to reorient health professions education, improve health of communities, and promote healthcare system change.”

Working with Bouve College of Health Sciences on planning, developing, and implementing educational programs and clinical faculty engagement through linkages and partnerships with health care providers, community-based organizations, and community residents. To coordinate and facilitate development of educational sites for Bouve students, collaborative community research and complementary community health services between the College and the community health services; as well as between the College and the community. To oversee the management and administration of CCHERS, and its various programs as the primary community-based partnerships between the College and community.

The Executive Director ensures that the agency is represented at the institutional and community levels, assists with the identification of community needs, and is engaged in program planning and policy formation. The CEO/Executive Director is accountable to and answers to the CCHERS Board of Directors and works closely with the Dean of Bouve College of Health Sciences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates should have proven leadership, senior level organizational management, professional, and lived experience. Advanced (masters) or terminal (doctorate) degree preferred in public health, social work, non-profit management, work with historically marginalized underserved communities, human services, or related field. BIPOC individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Substantial experience developing and operationalizing programs and strategies with high impact in and on the community-based quality programming with data-driven program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of equity, social justice, diversity, cultural competency, antiracism.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing organizational budgets and finances with support of highly qualified finance and administration director.
  • Excellence in organizational management with ability to supervise staff, manage, and develop high performance teams, to establish and achieve strategic goals.
  • Experience leading coalitions and collaboratives and assisting leaders in achieving consensus and taking action.
  • Be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and conscientiously.
  • Be action oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, with innovative approach to organizational planning.
