The core responsibilities of this position include teaching courses, scholarly research and writing, and service to students, the College of Law, the University, and the broader legal community.

The University of Toledo is a comprehensive metropolitan public university with a $750+ million annual budget and graduate programs in Law, Medicine, Engineering, and Pharmacy, among others. The University of Toledo is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to maintaining a welcoming and respectful community to all members, regardless of their race, national origin, religion, beliefs, age, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, or disability status.

As part of this commitment, we require that all applicants for faculty positions include a statement that discusses their past and/or planned contributions to a culture of equity and inclusion in the areas of research, teaching, or service. In this statement, the applicant should also reflect upon their experiences and vision regarding how their values and experiences advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in working with students, faculty, and staff.

The College of Law strongly encourages applications from candidates who would add to the diversity of the faculty.

Filling this position is subject to funding availability and approval of the Provost.

Applicants should also have a demonstrated ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships with the campus community to uphold a standard of cultural competency and respect for differences consistent with the College of Law’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include: excellent academic credentials, scholarly publications or demonstrated scholarly potential, and meaningful legal experience.
