We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Executive Director for Finance and Administration for Boston University's Information Services and Technology (IS&T) department. The Executive Director manages human resource, financial, and general administrative operations and manages a team finance and administrative team for IS&T in a central, shared service cluster.

 

The Executive Director is responsible for monitoring, analysis, reporting, and management of the IS&T operational, capital (i.e. infrastructure), and project budgets (100+M annually). The Executive Director's team manages contract renewal, license monitoring, forecasting, RFI/RFP support for $15M in annual contracts with over 500 vendors. The Executive Director supports IS&T managers in 40 departments with organizational changes, promotions, and position creation. The Executive Director leads the annual performance review process in IS&T. The Executive Director's team provides administrative functions to support 400 employees including purchasing, facilities management, recoveries, employee onboarding/offboarding support, as well as other administrative services associated with day-to-day operations and budget planning. This position is also responsible for Financial Management processes associated with IT service management, including service costing, client show back, and financial benchmarking.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred (or equivalent experience) 
  • 10+ years of relevant financial, budgeting and/or accounting experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in an organization of comparable size to IS&T
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skill, and proficiency using analytical tools including excel, Power BI (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, and developing a team
  • Takes initiative to innovate and improve department processes
  • Collaborative problem solving skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • High degree of discretion managing confidential employee and organizational data
