As part of the PCC Foundation team, the Events Coordinator plans and implements a year-round calendar of special events for donors, volunteers, community leaders and student scholarship recipients. The Events Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of event planning to scheduling, production, communications, logistical details and developing and monitoring budgets. Additionally, this position is responsible for securing sponsorship and special-appeal gifts through sponsorship outreach and donor engagement for key fundraising events. The Events Coordinator works closely with the Foundation board, Foundation development and operation staff, the College’s marketing team, as well as alumni and donors, students, PCC retirees and business and industry leaders.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience with special and fundraising events, including virtual, hybrid and in-person events as well as complex project management.
  • Successful experience with soliciting and securing sponsorships and donations for programs and events from a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication, organization, and technology (Google Suite, project management software, CRM databases, or the like).
  • Ability to practically implement programs, projects & events with detail-oriented and creative action.
    Ability to work independently and as part of the Foundation team and to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to celebrate and embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and belonging inside and outside of Portland Community College. Is enthusiastic to work for an equity-driven organization within higher education.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Hospitality, or related field. Three years of direct special events experience.
Or
Associates degree in Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Hospitality, or related field. Five years of direct special events experience.
Relevant experience may substitute for the college level coursework.

Position Grade 4 Starting Salary Expectations $53,461.00 to $57,272.00 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $53461 to $92706 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
