Monday - Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:30am; Friday,
5:30pm - 2:00am (Schedule and shift are subject to change in
accordance with contract or department needs.)
Sweeps, scrubs, mops, strips and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos
rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops and other work
areas; waters indoor plants.
Cleans, dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork including desks,
cabinets and tables; washes windows and walls; erases
Empties and cleans waste receptacles and pencil sharpeners; picks
up paper; picks up trash containers and empties into large
Cleans restrooms including floors, walls, fixtures, mirrors,
toilets and urinals; polishes metal fixtures; orders and restocks
Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up furniture,
equipment, materials and supplies for special events and
Performs minor repairs to buildings, fixtures and equipment;
replaces lights; cleans and adjusts shades and blinds; adjusts
desks and other furniture; reports other repair and maintenance
needs and assists others in making repairs as required.
Secures facility at completion of assigned schedule; turns lights
on and off; unlocks and locks doors and windows; reports sanitary
and safety hazards; notifies proper authorities of suspicious
persons or situations; returns items to lost and found.
Washes outdoor stairs, patios, bleachers and other facilities;
sweeps sidewalks; cleans drinking fountains.
Learns and applies emerging technologies and advances as necessary
to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely
Participate in District/College efforts to increase the diversity
of faculty and staff and to address student achievement gaps;
active assistance in the creation of a welcoming and inclusive work
and educational environment; attend and participate in diversity,
equity and inclusion trainings and events.

This position is responsible for maintaining an assigned group of
classrooms, restrooms, offices and related facilities in a clean
and orderly manner.
The Facilities Custodian I completes assigned tasks under the
direction of a supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of proper methods, materials, tools and equipment used in

Experience with floor care, carpet restoration, and natural stone
floor care (Terrazzo, Travertine, Marble, Granite, Vinyl
Composition Tile Floors, and Carpets).
One (1) year experience in custodial work, including the sanitation
of offices, restrooms, and minor repairs in facilities.
Demonstrated experience integrating diversity, equity, and

Work Schedule: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
District employees are currently working a hybrid schedule
of remote work and in-person each week until further notice. Number
of in-person days may vary by position/department. Questions
regarding the work schedule may be discussed with Hiring Manager if
selected as an interview candidate.
This is a classified position subject to a one-year
probationary period. Initial salary placement will be determined by
the Office of Human Resources in accordance with Board Policy and
is not negotiable. The applicant selected for the position will be

Minimum Qualifications - Experience: One year of experience is
equivalent to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per
