Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Vascular Biology and Cellular Immunology

An NIH-funded Post-Doctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Li Zhang at the Center for Vascular and Inflammatory Diseases, University of Maryland, School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will investigate the role of specific subsets of macrophages and microglia in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, and Alzheimer's disease. The major goal of these studies is to molecularly define how the CD18 integrin receptors, whose single nucleotide polymorphisms are linked to increased risks of human diseases, regulate discrete signaling pathways that confer macrophages/microglia with disease-modifying functions and wound healing capabilities. The post-doc fellow will perform experiments involving vascular biology, immune regulation, and murine models of human diseases. Prior experience in animal models, cell migration and trafficking, live cell imaging and advanced microscopy, multicolor flow cytometry, molecular techniques for proteins and nucleic acids, or transcriptomics/bioinformatics is preferred.

If interested, please email your CV and list of three references to Dr. Li Zhang ( lizhang@som.umaryland.edu ), Interim Director of the Center for Vascular and Inflammatory Diseases and Professor of Physiology

The University of Maryland, Baltimore is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
