Essential Functions (Job Duties)
JOB PURPOSE:
Functions as the senior leader in management in the Director's absence. Provides overall management and direction to the Student Center Reservations team, which is responsible for the reservation and event planning needs of the Student Center, Community Arts Auditorium, St. Andrews Hall and all other locations managed by Student Center staff. Supervises all reservations staff. Reports to Director, Student Center & Div Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions as the senior leader in management and operations of the Student Center in the Director's absence. Responsible for the management, facility, operational, financial, supervisory, customer service and student development functions of the Student Center and associated spaces and events.

Supervises two Event Sales Representatives. Provides overall leadership and direction to staff. Sets expectations & focus, assigns duties, delegates ‎‎responsibilities, evaluates activities, prepares performance ‎appraisals & professional development plans. Provides coaching, mentoring and teaching. Manages the ‎‎administrative process for assigned staff including hiring, ‎promotions, terminations, disciplinary procedures, and ‎and salary ‎‎adjustments. Provides ongoing performance feedback, goal setting, and development plans for staff. ‎‎‎Plans for future staffing needs. Provides timely communications to staff.
Also indirectly supervises 10+ student staff members. Monitors their work activities, provides training and feedback, and set expectations to utilize their abilities to the fullest extent.

Oversees Student Center sales and reservations with Student Center Administration clients to build guest relationships and effective client maintenance. Prepares daily reports for operations staff for room set-up and preparation. Monitors expenditures.

Manages the Emergency Medical Services configuration training and setup for all Student Center-managed spaces. Provides Emergency Medical Services administrative support to other campus partners including the medical campus.

Works closely with the Student Center Operations staff to contribute to the overall management of the Student Center. Provides feedback on the reservation process and helps set policies and procedures for the operations and reservations staff to effectively operate the building and provide excellent customer service.

Assist in the development and implementation of Student Center strategic plan, objectives and tactical plans, policies and procedures. Monitors work activities and resources to make sure established goals and objectives are achieved.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Unique Duties

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or a related field from an accredited college or university. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE:
Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Requires 5 or more years of experience managing sales and reservations, preferably in a higher education environment
