Position Overview:

Performs supervised individual and group counseling, supervision, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach. Provides psychological assessments, intakes and appropriate referrals. May perform other related tasks that are a part of the units operation, including developing and delivering communications or presentations. Complete required clinical documentation. Consult with supervisors and staff. Act as a campus resource on psychology and represent services to University community. At more senior levels, may coordinate clinical services and/or provide clinical supervision to other counselors and/or psychologists.

Performs psychological/psycho-educational assessments. Maintains appropriate case documentation, supervision and evaluation records. Contribute to clinical training of student-therapists, and serve the department, division, and university through consultation and participation on committees that are assigned. Develops and maintains on and off campus community collaborations Participates in outreach/consultation services to the campus community. Performs other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Center for Counseling and Well-Being

Provides-in depth professional knowledge and understanding of problem solving efforts. Develops standards for resolving routine problems. Serves as a resource to others within the department/business unit. Demonstrated ability to apply a wide range of clinical techniques with a diverse population. Well-developed skills in therapy, assessment, and written and oral communication. Work is substantially complex and varied, and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies and procedures in combination

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

Requires a Master's degree in clinical mental health field plus 3+ years of relevant experience in the chosen field that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Licensed, or eligible for licensure in the State of Oklahoma In-depth knowledge of principles and practices of mental health counseling of young adults. Requires coursework in psychopathology of adults and DSM diagnostic skills. Experiences in counseling clients in crisis (danger to self and/or others). Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Qualifications Preferred:

Master's degree in clinical mental health field. Fully Licensed in Oklahoma within field of study. In-depth knowledge of principles and practices of mental health counseling of young adults. Training in evidence-based practices for treating psychopathology of adults. Experience conducting assessments and utilizing DSM to determine diagnosis and course of treatment. Experience counseling clients in crisis (danger to self and/or others). Experience in a college counseling center or community mental health setting. Experience with Titanium electronic medical record and scheduling system. Experience conducting therapeutic groups doing anger management and drug and alcohol assessment and treatment
