The Department Of Environmental Science and Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Natural Resource Management and Conservation to begin in August 2023.
We seek an interdisciplinary scholar who can address natural resource management issues from scientific perspectives. We are interested in applicants who will make use of the forests and other environments on our 27,000 acre campus in their research program and pedagogy. Applicants with a background in science, and experience and interests related to sustainable forest management, carbon forestry, biodiversity conservation, watershed management, environmental markets, and related topics are encouraged to apply. We also envision our new faculty member investing in established departmental partnerships, including those with The Nature Conservancy and Coosa River Basin Initiative.

Our new hire will teach a variety of environmental science courses and will develop upper-division classes in natural resource management and related topics. In addition to a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate should possess a strong interest in service and mentoring students in a residential college environment.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Geography, Conservation Science, or a related field. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
