  • Associate’s Degree
  • Three years’ experience in technical theatre production work, including scenery construction, practical stage lighting, and theatrical sound execution.
Minimum education can be substituted with a combination of actual technical work in the various areas of theatre production, facility management and experience supervising workers equivalent to technical theatre production lab students.

Preferred qualifications:
The candidate should possess strong skills in the areas of facility management, technical theatre production and technical theatre lab student supervision. Work Hours
The work schedule for this full-time position is “event generated” with most work being done in the afternoon and evenings, with some weekend work. Hours are subject to change depending on the scheduled events. Compensation Starting salary begins at $46,411. Competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary
Incumbents provide comprehensive and administrative support, and assist with planning, financial/accounting management, budget, program design, fundraising, grant management, projects, marketing and public relations for an assigned functional area. Major duties and responsibilities include: managing assigned budget; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, College policies, process, procedures, standards, and requirements; providing skilled assistance to executive or Board; scheduling and coordinating events, visits and meetings; preparing lease documentations; processing purchase orders; administering contracts; maintaining database; and preparing analytical or statistical reports. Incumbents may supervise assigned staff.

  • Collaborate with the MCC Longview Theater Faculty, Art Gallery Curator/Director, and Vice-President in scheduling college events, as well as outside group use of the facility
  • Establish safe operating procedures for the facility usage in coordination with established college operating processes specific to the dual purposes of the Cultural Arts Center serving as an arts space as well as a FEMA Storm Shelter
  • Create and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for the facility
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff in order to coordinate scenery construction, principles of stage lighting, theatrical sound execution for staged productions, executing the director’s production concept and technical designs of each staged production
  • Supervise student technical theatre student workers in the creation of the technical elements of theatre production, the coordination of stage crew work during performances, the execution of stage lighting and sound for the shows, and safe and appropriate strike and storage of production elements at the completion of each show’s production run
  • Assist the Art Gallery Curator/Director in the installation and de-installation of art exhibits, including the preparation and painting of walls and pedestals, changing lighting, and scheduling cleaning of the gallery in-between exhibits
  • Work with outside groups with the smooth transition of load in of the scheduled event, the proper CAC operation of equipment while in the space, and move out after the event
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

The work is very heavy work which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
