Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in Biological Sciences as well as selected courses in other complementary disciplines.

Teaching and research expertise in any of Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, Synthetic or Quantitative Biology is preferred.

Teaching duties may include upper division undergraduate lectures and laboratory courses, and graduate lecture courses.

Participation in service to the department, college and university is also expected.

The successful candidate will be expected to write grants to develop active research programs in the department.

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate with different age groups along with students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In addition, communication should be central to teaching strategies, advisement and academic preparation.

Required Qualifications

Education

A graduate degree (PhD. Or Master's Degree) is required along with at least 2 years of applicable teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Experience

Research in the Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Biochemistry with applications to analytical genomics or other fields that complement the current faculty in the department.

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate with different age groups along with students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In addition, communication should be central to teaching strategies, advisement and academic preparation.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent is preferred

Experience

Postdoctoral experience preferred

Proposed Salary

Salary range from $45,000 to $55,000
