Salem Academy and College, the oldest continuously operating educational institution for girls and women in the country by its founding date of 1772, invites applications for a Director of Technology Services.

 

Position Summary: Provides leadership, management, and direct customer services with the on-campus technology services team. Coordinates several third-party services that support the campus network environment and connectivity for telecommunications and Internet. This is the senior position for campus technology and works closely with the senior administration and technology partners on strategies and infrastructure assessment and investments. Since this is a small team the director often is directly providing services and directly involved with solutions (a player/coach position). Leads a team of 5 to 6 plus student employees. Reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all campus technologies for students, faculty and staff.
  • Technical experience and capabilities for oversight of database administration, network and systems administration, cybersecurity, classroom technologies, and operational technologies such as support for fire panels, voice systems (VOIP), and print services.
  • Contribute to technology related policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, business administration or a related field;
  • Evidence of success in departmental leadership and supervision;
  • Three to five years of related professional experience preferably in a higher education setting;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technology related certifications. Graduate degree in a related field. Experience with network administration and security.

 

Physical Functions:

The physical functions are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This is an on-campus based position and there is a need to spend long periods of time working at a desk and frequently moving throughout the campus. Salem Academy and College promotes a healthy work-life balance. This position may require some afterhours work as several systems are essential for a residential campus.

Compensation and Fringe Benefits:

Competitive market based salary depending on experience and credentials. Employer sponsored health plan, retirement plan, generous paid leave time and holidays. Human Resources will review all benefit plans with finalists.
