Schedule: In-Person: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekends as needed.

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of College Promise Programs leads the development and enhancement efforts of the College’s Promise Programs, helping to integrate all programs into the overall college redesign process with equity and students at the center. The Director will be responsible for guiding intentional and student-centered collaboration between identified programs. The Director will direct the development of a comprehensive approach to supporting the student lifecycle, from proactive onboarding and intrusive advising to wrap-around support and enhanced teaching and learning, including supporting a growing population of Promise Program scholars. This role requires highly collaborative work across the College and external stakeholders to coordinate with existing student services and support and provides perspective throughout the student experience redesign process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Program Management

Works collaboratively with college colleagues, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure the success, collaboration, and communication of Promise work; partners closely with Admissions, Welcome and Entry, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other program partners to help support the success of Promise students; Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication team to develop, maintain, and disseminate information about Promise efforts via multiple media forums, including web, print, email, advertisement, etc.; Partners with other college programs to ensure integrated and collaborative programming efforts related to connections with high schools, community, and industry partners; Provides direct oversight of the Columbus Promise Program including activity planning, intervention creation, budgeting, and general program development and implementation using national best practices.

Leadership
Develops and implements a three-year strategic plan for Columbus State Promise Programs based on intended enrollment growth and associated student success metrics using a diversity, equity, and inclusion framework. Participates in college-wide conversations focused on the continuous quality improvement of the student experience and will lead sub-committees as needed. Represents the College as a leader for College Promise Programs. Establish key relationships and communication strategies to share the story of College Promise and leverage partnerships to further enhance the development of current or new Promise Programs.

Supervision
As programs develop and the College evolves, responsibilities will adapt; they will include supervising assigned areas of responsibility and staff by recruiting and hiring, assigning and delegating tasks, providing direction, resolving work problems, communicating job expectations, training employees, and developing professional growth opportunities. Establishes and implements goals and outcome measures, then communicates them to the team.

Utilizes assessment tools to determine customer satisfaction and student success and initiates plans to address any concerns. Using a Growth Mindset, the Director conducts annual employee evaluations, provides ongoing feedback and coaching, and effectively recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval and in collaboration with Human Resources. Interprets, explains, carries out, and enforces the College's policies.

Administrative
Develops and manages a detailed budget for all fiscal matters related to various Promise Programs. Provides written reports and presentations capturing the progress and work of Promise Programs, including reports that will be used for the Columbus State, the City of Columbus, and other public audiences as directed. Collects, evaluates, and reports data on department services in partnership with Institutional Effectiveness Office.

Tracks and utilizes data to make suggestions and deliver insight into the development/maintenance of the College Promise Programs’ strategic plan. Administers ongoing systematic evaluation of services and programs needed. Keeps accurate records, completes and maintains required documentation, including recruitment statistics, outbound phone calls, visit requests and reports, and other admissions and enrollment reports.

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with diverse groups and communities. Partners strategically with Talent Acquisition to ensure the best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices are utilized in hiring that results in the hiring and retaining a diverse faculty and staff.

Helps to ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying problem areas and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination. Takes responsibility for creating a welcoming, inclusive, and productive work environment where all employees feel valued and able to contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines and deadlines with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners.

Ensures the College name and image are perceived positively by external and internal audience/stakeholders. Work may require travel within and outside the state of Ohio. Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into a computer. The employee frequently sits, stands, and walks for periods. The employee converses with others in person as well as by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (education, counseling, or business) and three (3) – five (5) years of increasingly responsible related work experience that has included program planning. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively. Must also pay attention to detail, have the ability to follow through with assisting students, and commit to the student’s success and student-centered education. A Master’s degree in a related field such as education, counseling, or business and Community College experience is preferred.

State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
