Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist North Carolina Central University with the planning, development, design and content management of its current and future web offerings. This includes (but is not limited to) NCCU.edu, the myEOL intranet portal, and the mobile application.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming; or Bachelor’s Degree with nine credit hours in programming; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • HTML, CSS, content management systems (e.g., Drupal and WordPress), and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of major style guides and ability to consistently implement their recommendations (especially AP style)
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and how to enact them
  • Organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills that result in engaging web content
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in project management from conception, design, development, content population and deployment
  • Effective interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain relationships with external and internal audiences
  • Ability to strategize web content to ensure readability and audience appeal
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines. Must be able to handle multiple projects
  • Understanding of website information architecture and user interface
  • Excellent customer service skills and etiquette, particularly via email and phone
