Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of the position is to assist higher-level decision-makers in the design, planning, coding, development, and maintenance of all web sites, pages, web applications, dynamic connections between varied information systems, and web portals for North Carolina Central University

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with nine credit hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess:

• Working knowledge of web technology, which includes PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, and HTML
• Basic understanding behind content management systems (CMSs)
• Knowledge of designing, coding, planning, developing, and maintenance of web infrastructure
• Familiarity working with APIs is highly recommended, as well as experience with source control management (Git) and dependency management (Composer)
• Ability to devise, organize and follow advanced technical procedures
• To work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion
• To learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions
• To exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving
• To plan, prioritize and organize workflow
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high-pressure environment
