REPORTS TO: Director, Library Services
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides reference services to students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
- Develops and teaches in-person or online library instruction sessions for courses in various subject disciplines; serves as a liaison to academic departments as assigned.
- Assists users in the library labs and online with questions about library databases and other academic sources, such as productivity software and printing.
- Recommends book, serials, and e-resources for purchase.
- Assists with library communications, marketing, and user materials.
- Participates in planning and general service activities of the library and College, including assessment efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
- Teaching and reference experience
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and technical skills
- Fluent with print and electronic library resources
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience with one or more of the following: collection development, e-resources and acquisitions, interlibrary loan, digital collections
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Tenure-track position
SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May require evening and weekend work.
