Position Purpose

To work as an inclusive and unifying leader with a shared leadership style, who will build trust with staff and establish clarity on roles, responsibilities, and targeted outcomes. To build, nurture, and retain a strong team of diverse professionals. To assign these professionals to research projects. To supervise and lead fundraising, including securing foundation, government, and individual support to diversify the labs revenue stream. To oversee daily operations, supervise all staff, and manage financials of the lab. To provide strategic leadership and guidance to faculty.

This position will lead the lab operations, drive strategic and financial planning and will oversee fundraising.

Masters plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Education and Experience
  • Masters degree in Political Science or related field
  • 3 plus years of experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Experience working in an academic or research setting, training in modern research methods, and familiarity with causal inference.
  • Experience supervising subordinates.
  • Experience writing grant proposals.
  • Experience working with federal funders and private foundations.
  • Strongly motivated and self-directed.

  • Coordinate grant proposal submissions; serve as lab’s principal advocate with philanthropic foundations and other funders, as well as work with development teams.
