Position Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Film, this position supports the execution and management of an inspired, educational and enhanced film program. This role manages all campus and community-facing film programs and activities produced by the Hopkins Center in addition to the administration of all activities associated with Hopkins Center Film.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
- One to three years of administrative experience in an arts-related setting.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong interest in the art of film.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work closely with students, faculty, the public and other Dartmouth College employees.
- Organizational, administrative, fiscal management and business-related skills.
- Working knowledge of Mac/Windows, Microsoft Office, database applications.
- Familiarity with film-related systems (video editing, DCP, etc) preferred.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with all constituencies in a diverse institution.
- Some evenings and weekends are required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the film industry.
- Experience working in the performing arts.

Description

Program Development/Management
The Film Program Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Film in developing current and future program content, planning/initiatives and goals of Hop Film from sourcing contents and events to managing guests and related logistics. In addition to supporting the strategic planning, this position executes logistics as they relate to booking, marketing, payment and guest coordination. The Coordinator engages students and campus departments to create film-related events and co-curricular series as well as manages these ancillary events.

Description

Marketing/Outreach
Working closely with the Marketing & Communications department, this position assists in the development of a strategic communications plan for all Hop Film presentations, specifically engaging campus constituents. Drafts and collaborates on written and promotional video content for Hop digital and print marketing efforts. Researches opportunities and executes strategic marketing outreach to encourage students, professors and the community to engage in Hop Film.

Description

Finance/Administration/Supervisory
Participates in budget development and monitors program sales and attendance. Executes payments to vendors, film distributors, other suppliers and College partners. Produces and maintains foundational planning schedule as well as systems for tracking assets and related materials including but not limited to the Hopkins Center collaborative database for events. Serves as the department representative in the absence of the Director of Film at events. Supervises temporary employees, student fellows, the Dartmouth Film Society and works closely with the Head Projectionist regarding weekly content and hiring.
