Centre College invites applications for a tenure track position in Cultural Anthropology at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2023. Candidates will be expected to teach introductory and elective courses in cultural and linguistic anthropology that complement existing strengths of the program and to contribute to the General Education curriculum. We will give preference to individuals with a record of teaching environmental or ecological anthropology. 

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to offer a writing-intensive first year seminar, contribute to one of the College’s interdisciplinary minors, and demonstrate experience with community-engaged and experiential learning. Candidates with experience working with community partners to apply coursework to local issues are especially welcome. Candidates must have completed a PhD by August 1, 2023.  We strongly encourage applications from candidates who further diversify our faculty, demonstrate success in supporting and mentoring a diverse student body, and utilize inclusive and engaging pedagogical practices.
