Assistant Coach - Strength and Conditioning

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Title: Assistant Coach - Strength & Conditioning

Department: Athletics (Sports Medicine)

Reports to: Strength and Conditioning Coach

Status: Part-Time, Non-Benefit Eligible

Location: Lisle Campus

Position Summary: Assist Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in daily operation of weight room.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Oversight of student-athletes

2. Preparation for training sessions – workout and facility preparation.

3. Communication with head and assistant sport coaches.

4. Opening and closing duties.

Required Qualifications:



Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience: None required

Specific Skills: N/A

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. CSCS preferred, CPR certification

Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General Customer service and office environment.

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Yes. Student workers.

Working Conditions: Supervised and/or directed by Head Strength & Condition coach in weight room and other athletic facilities.

Training: Must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
