Essential Functions
1. Plans audits and assignments in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors ( IIA ) standards while documenting assignments in work papers and audit files.
2. Performs audits and assignments in accordance with IIA standards while documenting audit testing and work.
3. Develops recommendations to improve operations and processes to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to reduce risks.
4. Assists and advises management and staff regarding financial and accounting matters, policies and procedures, and internal controls.
5. Assembles reports and work papers and performs various clerical duties as needed.
6. Represents the Internal Auditing Department on University committees and other meetings.
Minimum Education and Experience
Education Level
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Field of Study
Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field PLUS credential as a Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Public Accountant.
Years of Experience
Level I requires no experience

Policies, laws, and practices of internal auditing
Requirements for Additional Job Levels
Level II requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Accounting,
Finance, or related field or a degree in a non-related field PLUS credential as a Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Public Accountant.plus 2 years of experience in the policies, laws, and practices of internal auditing.
