The Department of Geography and the Environment at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a Lecturer position (non-tenure track) for the academic year of 2022-23 to support our growing interdisciplinary major in Sustainability Studies.

We encourage candidates with teaching expertise and interests in all aspects of sustainability and environmental geography including, but not limited to, environmental policy, natural resources, political ecology, environmental justice, climate change, or urbanization. Courses that implement geospatial technologies, quantitative, and/or qualitative methods would be especially welcome. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses, this position also entails coordinating internships and teaching the capstone experience course serving the Sustainability Studies and Geography degrees.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field and have demonstrated skills in teaching courses addressing some of the topics listed above at a higher education institution.
