The salary range for this position is starting at $21.00/hour dependent upon experience and qualifications. Job Summary:

This is a data-entry position that provides program support to the Communicable Disease Division's supervisory, professional, and administrative staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: understanding and use of medical terminology; entry of patient demographic, clinical, and billing data; interpreting patient history and diagnoses into the patient database; responding to requests for medical information; maintenance of peripheral equipment and inventory of computer and laboratory supplies; participate in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines to improve administrative and/or operating effectiveness; other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

Performs administrative duties to support providers, staff, services, and unit programs. May serve as the primary contact or customer service representative and subject matter expert. Tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects. Requires Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) knowledge or training.
  • 20% Performs administrative tasks including telephone customer service, word processing, transcribing, filing, and calendaring
  • 80% Assists in coordinating the complex daily activities of providers or program(s) by entering information into databases, maintaining files and materials, and preparing reports

Education:

Preferred
H.S. Diploma

Qualifications:

1-2 years of data entry experience, preferred
0-1 years of laboratory experience, preferred
Skill in using Epic Systems Beaker application, preferred

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday 7:45 to 4:30 pm with occassional weekends and holidays on rotational basis.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 24 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Awareness or exposure to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)
Awareness or exposure to International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) diagnostic codes
