Facilities Management is seeking a Custodial Services Supervisor who will be responsible for managing the custodial staff for the Armstrong Medical Education Building. This role will oversee the management of staff responsible for the evening shift custodial operations.

Responsibilities will include maintaining the cooperative relationship between Facilities Management and the departments being provided these services, upholding the quality of services provided, and supervising the staff engaged in these activities. The Custodial Supervisor will perform the specific functions outlined below.

Oversee the housekeeping services by:

  • Maintaining close contact with the Assistant Manager to discuss the housekeeping needs for the facility
  • Supervise, guide, directs, trains and evaluate subordinate personnel in their daily routines
  • Conduct weekly inspections in all areas to evaluate each employee’s performance
  • Letting the Assistant Manager know of needs regarding supplies and equipment to clean each building
  • Coordinating the development of guidelines for standards in housekeeping and other programmed activities
  • Supervise the Custodial Staff in the Armstrong Building
  • Take responsibility for personnel management, including interviewing and approving the hiring of staff, disciplinary action, and the upholding of contractual personnel guidelines
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Five years’ experience in facilities operations or housekeeping services required
  • General knowledge of Supervisory principles and practice
  • Intermediate writing & computer skills required

Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Five years supervisory experience preferred

Ability to stand/walk with little opportunity to sit during the workday; in addition, ability to lift and pull up to 40lbs

30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
