Job Description

The ASU data and evaluation team works with service members and veterans across the country by creating adaptable solutions that build upon existing military and state infrastructure, and evidence-based prevention approaches, while adding a new level of internal and external coordination for prevention service delivery. Project efforts focus on upstream community-based, universal, selective, and indicated approaches across the full range of social determinants of health. This position is responsible for performing data collection, analysis and interpretation of limited scope requiring initiative and judgement based on knowledge and understanding of scientific theory.

Salary Range: $16.92-$18.00 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Performs scientific data collections, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by moderate use of independent judgement.
  • Conducts experiments, surveys and interview dictation using various routines and analyses, maps and survey instruments where procedures are clearly defined and results readily determined.
  • Maintains detailed records of studies conducted, organizes data, prepares data for computer input and records computer output.
  • Compiles data and generates computerized statistical data for analytical purposes using software packages; makes preliminary analyses and assists researchers in interpreting the data.
  • Conducts library searches to find research or evidence based information on related procedures and techniques that can be used in the field.
  • Writes summaries of projects, documenting locations, findings and procedures used and assists in writing reports by conducting literature searches and background research; prepares bibliographies as required.
  • Trains students and staff in the operation of survey data collection, statistical software, and other reporting software. Communicates findings to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Four years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Use of office equipment such as calculator, telephone, computer, printer, fax and copier.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
