Position Summary:
The Northern District is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor for an Extension Educator. The Extension Educator will provide leadership in all county and some district 4-H Youth program (100%). The Educator will provide assistance in university outreach where appropriate. They will provide leadership, guidance, and management to the 4-H Youth Development program in Kootenai county and will collaborate with Extension personnel across program and county lines plus actively participate on State 4-H teams and committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Science Degree that may include Youth or Child Development, Education, Extension Education, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience working with youth and volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience/training in the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers.
- Demonstrated use of technology in managing and or delivering educational programs.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel and adjust to a flexible schedule (i.e., participate in evening and weekend programs)
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working in Extension education or post-degree professional experience in a youth development field.
- Demonstrated experience in direct youth and family programs, volunteer support and management, program coordination, risk management and research evaluation of youth programs and staff support and supervision.
- Ability to work well in a team and provide effective instruction, support, marketing, and promotion for Extension programs.
- Commitment to include diverse voice in program prioritization and planning, and commitment to developing and delivering both inclusive and targeted programming.
